Give the quantity
a material.

Build on your measured scope. Keep the material unit, any conversion, and the rate visible as you move toward a bill of quantities.

Choose the right unit.

Open Materials & BOQ and create the materials you need. Use a clear name and the unit that describes how the material is measured or purchased. Check the catalog before making a duplicate.

Make the conversion visible.

Select the drawing items you want to assign. Use their measured quantity when it already matches the material unit. For an area-to-volume assignment, enter an explicit depth.

Example: 20 m² of measured area × 0.15 m of depth = 3 m³. This illustrates the conversion; it is not a quantity extracted from your drawing.

Inspect the assignment preview before applying it. Check the selected items and sheets, the resulting quantity, and the unit.

Price compatible quantities.

Add or import material rates, then select the rate intended for the project. Its unit must match the quantity being priced. Check the currency and the basis of the rate before comparing totals.

Missing rates should stay visible as unpriced work. Do not interpret a missing cost as a zero-cost material.

Follow the sources.

Inspect the BOQ rows and their source items. Check that material assignments, scope, quantities, and rates describe the intended work.

Review unpriced rows and any incompatible rate units before exporting. For a trusted handoff, also complete the drawing-scale and item approvals required by the takeoff.

Open the CSV after downloading it and verify quantities, units, currency, and totals. The export is a handoff to inspect, not a substitute for the source review.
